Romanian cities extend insecticide spraying amid weather delays
The municipality of Buzău postponed the third stage of its citywide insecticide spraying to 14–15 July after unfavorable weather pushed back the originally planned early‑July operation. The ground treatment will use the Flytrin product approved by the Health Ministry, and residents are urged to avoid the treated parks and refrain from contact with the sprayed substance.
In Zalău, the pest‑control contract with Coral Impex has been extended until 31 July 2026. Spraying will occur nightly between 20:00 and 02:00, with authorities advising children, the elderly and people with respiratory conditions to stay clear of the areas. Windows within 20 metres of streets should remain closed, and standard first‑aid measures are outlined for accidental skin, eye or inhalation exposure.
Both municipalities emphasize that the chemicals used are health‑minister‑approved but caution the public to follow safety guidelines to prevent irritation or toxicity.
