Romanian clubs FC Argeș, Rapid and Viitorul Argeș make transfer moves and face contract dispute

FC Argeș completed the permanent transfer of 19‑year‑old midfielder Gabriel Gheorghe from Rapid, signing him after an agreement that ends his loan spell. Gheorghe had previously played for Argeș in 2024‑25, helped the team earn promotion, and featured for Romania’s youth national teams.

Rapid Bucharest announced further transfer activity, with president Victor Angelescu stating the club is close to securing a striker on loan with an option to buy, and also plans to add at least one central midfielder and a left‑back in the coming weeks after recent departures of Jakub Hromada, Kader Keita and defender Andrei Borza to Turkey.

Former youth international defender Andres Dumitrescu is being sued by ACS Viitorul Argeș for €25,000, alleging a breach of a contract linked to his 2023 move to Slavia Prague. Dumitrescu’s lawyers claim the contract is falsified, that he was under the age limit for such agreements, and that the club failed to provide promised training, food and accommodation during his junior years.
