On 30‑31 July 2026 the Bucharest Court of Appeal suspended the execution of six Government Ordinances (HG 545/2026, HG 546/2026, HG 547/2026, HG 509/2026, HG 569/2026 and HG 571/2026) adopted by the interim cabinet led by Ilie Bolojan. The suspensions were requested by the Social Democratic Party (PSD), which argues that a government dismissed by a no‑confidence vote no longer has authority to adopt such acts.

The ordinances cover agriculture, organ‑exchange contributions, Natura 2000 protected areas, disability‑benefit schemes and other measures, affecting more than 43 300 people. Their suspension threatens EU‑funded projects worth roughly €234 million and could expose Romania to penalties of up to €1 billion. The interim government cites Article 110 of the Romanian Constitution, which allows a dismissed cabinet to perform necessary administrative acts until a new cabinet is sworn in. The court’s rulings are executory and can be appealed within five days of notification.
