Romanian cultural heritage showcased in Ukraine and Spain

Romanian cultural institutions are conducting significant heritage preservation and promotion efforts in both Ukraine and Spain.

In Apșa de Jos, Transcarpathia, a cultural gathering was held to preserve the historical memory and Romanian cultural heritage of communities on both sides of the Tisza River. The event, hosted by the Museum of History and Ethnography of Romanians in Transcarpathia, marked the conclusion of a project by the Regional Union of Romanians in Transcarpathia ‘Dacia’. A delegation from the ‘Petre Dulfu’ County Library Baia Mare participated in the event, which included the launch of editorial works focused on the history and identity of Romanians in the region.

In Madrid, the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant is presenting the exhibition ‘ROȘU. Energia scoarțelor tradiționale din România’ at the Royal Tapestry Factory Foundation. Supported by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid, the exhibition features 64 cultural assets, including 17 traditional rugs, marking the first time these pieces have been presented to the public outside of Romania. The collection includes items from various Romanian regions, such as Muntenia, Banat, Moldova, Dobrogea, Maramureș, Oltenia, and Transilvania.
