Romanian cultural heritage promotion and preservation

Overview

Romania has initiated several international efforts to promote and preserve its cultural heritage. In Spain, the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism launched the ‘Rumanía inspira’ campaign in Seville, utilizing a wrapped tram to showcase iconic landmarks such as the Danube Delta and Peleș Castle. This campaign aims to generate significant advertising exposure to attract tourists from Spain, which is currently one of Romania’s top eight tourist sources.

Simultaneously, cultural preservation efforts have expanded to Ukraine and Spain through different institutional channels. In Transcarpathia, a cultural gathering was held to maintain the historical memory of Romanian communities near the Tisza River. Meanwhile, in Madrid, the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant is presenting an exhibition of 64 cultural assets, including traditional rugs from various Romanian regions, marking the first time these specific items have been displayed outside of Romania.
