EDRONE and OVES Enterprise begin drone production in Cluj‑Napoca
Ukrainian drone maker EDRONE and Romanian technology firm OVES Enterprise have signed an agreement to start joint production of military drones at a new facility in Cluj‑Napoca, Romania. The first batch, scheduled for autumn, will include three types – FPV, interceptor and reconnaissance drones – with an initial output of about 1,000 units per month. The partnership targets a mid‑term capacity of 10,000‑15,000 drones monthly and the possibility of expanding to 27 different models, depending on demand from Romania, other European states and Ukraine.
The project incorporates OVES’s Nemesis AI system and aims to manufacture key components locally, replacing Chinese parts with Romanian‑produced frames, motors, propellers and control electronics. Founder and CEO Viktor Yevpak said the collaboration “leverages OVES’s AI expertise and our own production know‑how to support both the Romanian defence market and Ukraine’s urgent needs.” The venture is part of Ukraine’s Build with Ukraine initiative and is intended to bolster regional defence capabilities.
Production will also serve broader European customers, creating a new industrial capacity for autonomous aerospace systems in the region.
