Romanian educational institutions discuss workforce readiness and AI
Educational leaders, business representatives, and public authorities in Romania are convening to address the alignment of academic training with the evolving demands of the modern economy.
At the EduPro Summit organized by AHK Romania, discussions focused on the necessity of dual vocational training and the importance of continuous learning to maintain economic competitiveness. Sebastian Metz, Director General of AHK Romania, emphasized that schools, public authorities, and the business sector must share responsibility for preparing talent for a market shaped by rapid technological shifts and artificial intelligence.
Simultaneously, technical universities are working to unify engineering education. Representatives from eight university centers, including the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University in Iași, met to discuss standardizing study programs for automation and computer science. The goal is to ensure students receive consistent training across different academic hubs, such as Iași, Timișoara, Bucharest, and Cluj, while integrating the skills required to navigate an AI-driven labor market.
