Romanian emergency services conduct over 180 rescues in Mureș and Timiș counties

Mountain rescue teams (Salvamont) in Mureș county responded to two emergencies in the past 24 hours, contributing to a total of 17 interventions nationwide. The services rescued 23 people, of whom four required transport to hospitals, while one victim died after being evacuated by a SMURD helicopter. In addition, 36 calls seeking trail information were logged.

In Timiș county, emergency crews carried out 166 rescue missions during a weekend, including 139 SMURD medical interventions. Responders dealt with six road accidents, four fires, nine incidents of fallen trees or cables, and provided safety support at two public events. The ISU and IGSU issued eight RO‑ALERT warnings to inform the public about dangerous weather conditions.
