Romanian emergency services treat child burns and apartment fire

In Slatina, Olt County, a fire broke out in a sixth‑floor apartment after an electric short‑circuit in a kitchen hood. The blaze prompted the deployment of multiple fire‑engine units, an aerial rescue vehicle, a rescue‑truck, and a SMURD crew. Twenty‑one people, including two children, were evacuated, and a 69‑year‑old woman was hospitalized with burns to her hands. The fire damaged the kitchen and surrounding belongings, and investigators attribute the cause to the short‑circuit.
