Romanian Football Federation removes U21 coach Costin Curelea

The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has announced the departure of Costin Curelea as the head coach of the Romania U21 national team. The decision follows the team's failure to qualify for the upcoming European Championship.

In addition to his departure, the FRF imposed sanctions on Curelea and assistant coach Ionuț Stancu. Following an internal investigation into reports that the staff left the official team program to attend a social event in Spain, the federation has ordered a 25% reduction in their final remaining salary payments. The FRF stated that while the behavior did not affect sporting activities, it failed to meet the required standards of professionalism and conduct.
