Romanian Health System Expands with New Integrated Screening Center in Cluj and Specialist Recruitment at Ana Aslan

The Cluj County Council and the Ministry of Investments and European Projects have signed a contract to fund the expansion, modernisation and equipping of the Ambulatory of the Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital in Cluj‑Napoca. Construction of the Integrated Screening and Prevention Centre will begin in July and is scheduled to last two years, with an estimated cost of about 23.1 million lei funded through the EU Health Programme. The new facility will house screening and preventive‑care offices, a day‑hospital ward for post‑intervention monitoring, treatment rooms and an outdoor relaxation area.

Separately, the National Institute of Gerontology and Geriatrics “Ana Aslan” in Bucharest announced a public competition for one permanent position of medical specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, requiring additional certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound. Applications must be submitted between 16 June and 29 June 2026 at the institute’s headquarters, accompanied by the required professional and integrity documents.
