Romanian high schools implement AI education programs
Educational institutions in Bucharest are implementing new programs to integrate artificial intelligence into student curricula.
Little London Theoretical High School is conducting a pilot module for 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students. The program focuses on the responsible use of AI, information verification, and the societal impact of technology. The curriculum includes theoretical lessons, sessions with technology industry professionals, and psychological perspectives on how technology affects decision-making and attention. The initiative follows a pilot program from the Romanian Ministry of Education regarding alternative framework plans.
Additionally, the AIprenor program is engaging students from six high schools in Bucharest's Sector 1. Funded by the local mayoralty and managed by an educational NGO, the initiative aims to transform informal AI use into applied entrepreneurial skills. Approximately 250 students will participate in online literacy modules, while 150 will engage in project-based learning to develop solutions for community or school-based problems. The program includes 48 practical workshops, culminating in the Gala AIprenor where students present mini-projects to a jury.
