Romanian hospitals Mioveni and Mureș introduce expanded diagnostic services

The Mioveni City Hospital in Argeș County has become the only public hospital in the region to offer free, CAS‑covered 2‑D bilateral mammography, alongside 3‑D tomosynthesis, breast and axillary ultrasounds, and a new operating theatre. Prices for the services range from 130 lei for a unilateral 2‑D mammogram to 500 lei for a bilateral 3‑D scan.

The County Clinical Hospital in Mureș has completed a EUR‑funded modernization that transformed its Anatomy Pathology department into a fully digital, molecular pathology platform. The new lab integrates classic histopathology, digital imaging and molecular testing, featuring an Illumina MySeqDx sequencer, hybrid histopathology equipment and long‑term biobanking ultracongelators. The project, valued at over 10.8 million lei, aims to provide faster, more accurate cancer diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
