Romanian hospitals modernise facilities and adopt tele‑radiology solutions

The Brașov County Council completed a major upgrade of the Dr. I. A. Sbârcea Obstetrics‑Gynecology Clinical Hospital, funded by 100 % non‑repayable PNRR resources and local budget. The project added a new imaging department with MRI, CT and digital radiography equipment, expanded the neonatal intensive‑care unit from five to eleven beds, installed a maternal milk bank and implemented a digital e‑Health platform.

Separately, the Suceava County Clinical Hospital “Sfântul Ioan cel Nou” signed a contract for teleradiology services to mitigate a shortage of radiologists, aiming to cover urgent‑care imaging demands without over‑working existing staff.

Both initiatives aim to improve diagnostic and neonatal care capacity in Romania’s public health system.
