Romanian labor agency expands unemployment aid and free vocational courses in July 2026

The Bucharest Municipal Employment Agency (AMOFM) announced that high‑school and professional‑school graduates of the 2026 class can receive a six‑month unemployment allowance equal to 50 % of the current social reference index, provided they register within 60 days of graduation. Those who obtain a permanent full‑time job within the first two years are eligible for a stability bonus of 1,000 lei per month in the first year and 1,250 lei in the second year, while a one‑time insertion bonus equal to three times the social reference index is offered to graduates employed for more than 12 months.

The National Employment Agency (ANOFM) will also run 106 free professional‑training programmes in July 2026 for 1,726 participants across the country. The most offered qualifications are human‑resources assistant (112 spots), commercial worker (106), green‑space caretaker (98), kitchen assistant (96) and digital‑competence courses (90). Additional regional offerings include 56 slots in Olt County for courses in baking, accounting, project management and manicuring, each accepting 14 trainees.

All programmes are free for registered job‑seekers; other participants may attend by covering costs. The initiatives aim to boost employability and align skills with current labour‑market demand.
