Romanian labor inspectorates impose fines in Dâmbovița and launch collective‑bargaining campaign in Bihor

The Dâmbovița Territorial Labour Inspectorate (ITM) concluded a control campaign from 2‑22 June 2026 targeting undeclared work in alternative passenger transport, online commerce and courier services. Inspectors examined 44 employers, identified more than 160 individuals working without legal contracts and issued contraventional fines exceeding 6.92 million lei, including a 140,000‑lei penalty for employing staff with suspended contracts. Forty‑two mandatory measures were also ordered to regularise the sector.

Meanwhile, the Bihor ITM has begun a national information campaign running from May 2025 through the end of 2026 to promote collective bargaining among public and private employers. The initiative stresses the legal duty of firms with ten or more employees to start collective‑negotiation procedures, warning that non‑compliance can attract fines of 15,000‑20,000 lei. In 2025 the county recorded 199 collective‑work agreements and 21 amendments, and at the start of 2026 had 2,874 entities employing more than ten workers, most of them privately owned.
