Romanian labour inspectors mark Inspection Day with community outreach

On July 11, inspectors from the Botoșani Territorial Labour Inspection office spent several hours at a local animal shelter, feeding and caring for stray animals instead of holding a traditional celebration. The initiative was presented as a gesture of solidarity and community responsibility.

In the neighbouring county of Gorj, labour inspectors conducted visits to employers, distributing informational leaflets about the negative social and economic effects of undeclared work, workplace safety, and employee health rights. The visits were carried out without issuing fines, emphasizing education and compliance ahead of the institution’s 27th anniversary, established under Law 108/1999 and subordinate to the Ministry of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity.
