Interim Labour Minister Dragoș Pîslaru announced the appointment of university professor Ana Rădulescu as the new president of Romania's National Authority for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities (ANPDPD). Pîslaru highlighted her more than 20 years of experience in social assistance, public‑policy development and European project coordination, stating that her expertise will strengthen protection for people with disabilities.

The appointment follows Pîslaru’s dismissal of the former ANPDPD head, Alexandra Zară, on the same day. He also called for sanctions against officials in Bihor County for their handling of a DIICOT operation on 30 June, and ordered the drafting of inter‑institutional protocols concerning vulnerable persons.

The changes are presented as steps toward modernising social protection systems in Romania and aligning them with European standards.
