Romanian labour offices call on 2026 graduates to register for unemployment benefits
The County Employment Agencies in Bistriţa‑Năsăud and Caraș‑Severin are urging all students graduating in the 2026 promotion to enrol as job‑seekers within 60 days of completing their studies. Registration is required to receive free specialised services, such as career counselling, job mediation, professional training and access to unemployment benefits under Law no. 76/2002.
Graduates who register and later obtain full‑time employment for more than 12 months are eligible for an insertion bonus equal to three times the current Social Reference Index (ISR), amounting to 1,980 lei. Those who remain unemployed can claim a six‑month unemployment allowance of 50 % of the ISR (approximately 330 lei per month), provided they filed the necessary documents – identity card, diploma, CV and two standardised forms on health declaration and data use.
The agencies stress that failure to register within the 60‑day window results in loss of entitlement to these benefits. Detailed information is available on the AJOFM website and at local office points of contact.
