Romanian malls add Primark, Peek & Cloppenburg and upgrade Iulius Iaşi

Primark Peek & Cloppenburg Iulius Mall Iaşi Sun Plaza retail expansion

Sun Plaza in the southern part of Bucharest will welcome Primark and Peek & Cloppenburg stores by the end of the year as part of a broader effort to improve its tenant mix. The former Carrefour space is being reorganised; after Carrefour closes in May 2025, an Auchan store designed for a mall environment will replace the hypermarket.

Iulius Mall in Iaşi is undergoing a €9 million modernisation slated for completion in early 2027. The overhaul includes technical upgrades, 5,800 sqm of new retail space, and the introduction of affordable‑price brands across fashion, footwear, cosmetics, home and gastronomy. It also adds Romania’s largest creative‑collaborative area of 2,000 sqm and a refreshed Viper bowling‑billiard club.
