Romanian medical residents contest specialist examination results

Medical residents in Romania are challenging the results of recent specialist examinations, citing significant discrepancies between exam questions and the provided grading scales. The Multidisciplinary Society of Resident Doctors (SMMR) has reported that the volume of information required by the grading scales was impossible to complete within the allotted three-hour timeframe.

The issues appear to be centralized, as the exam subjects were unique at a national level. The SMMR is calling on the Ministry of Health to revise the grading scales and re-evaluate the papers. If re-evaluation is not possible, the society is requesting an extraordinary examination session for candidates who failed due to these errors.

The current examination cycle, which includes over 3,900 candidates for medical, dental, and pharmacy specialist titles, runs from October 7 to November 3. While the Ministry of Health has stated it will analyze the situation, no official timeline or specific plan for affected candidates has been released.
