Romanian MP Serghei Ivanov accuses government ministers of arrogance and non‑attendance
Deputy Serghei Ivanov of Romania’s Partidul Nostru criticised the current government for a lack of transparency and what he described as ministerial arrogance. He highlighted that the Minister of Agriculture has never appeared before the parliamentary Agriculture and Food Industry Committee despite repeated requests, underscoring a broader breakdown in dialogue between the executive and legislature.
Ivanov referenced Lithuania’s practice of a weekly “government hour” where ministers regularly answer parliamentary questions, arguing that such accountability is essential for Romania’s EU integration. Speaking on the TV programme Exclusiv TV, he warned that persistent institutional irresponsibility could hamper state functioning and public administration efficiency.
