Romanian municipalities implement PNRR-funded infrastructure projects

Municipalities in Romania are managing various infrastructure projects funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). In Kovászna, the local government has completed a pilot project involving the construction of six high-efficiency service apartments. Designed for healthcare and education professionals, these nZEB plus-rated buildings aim to increase the town's attractiveness by providing quality housing for essential workers. The project cost 3.3 million lei, with 2.58 million lei provided by PNRR funding.

In Csíkszereda, the administration is facing challenges meeting the end-of-August deadline for several PNRR-funded developments. Out of nine planned investments, three have been completed, including the equipping of educational institutions with new tools and facilities, and the creation of waste management sites. Two other projects, involving building insulation, are nearing completion. However, officials noted that several remaining projects will likely fail to reach the required 95 percent completion threshold by the deadline.
