Romanian towns launch EU‑funded transport and water infrastructure projects

The commune of Merești in Harghita county will install two public electric‑vehicle charging stations under a PNRR‑funded project worth 292,900 lei, aiming to support green mobility.

Suceava City Hall is advancing the modernization of two bus stations, “Confecţii” and “Gara Burdujeni”, through new private‑sector partnerships, following earlier upgrades with other firms.

Vaslui municipality has extended its public‑transport network to the nearby villages of Muntenii de Râpă and Delea‑Sat, adding two electric bus lines and five rapid‑charging stations after receiving roughly €7.5 million from the EU recovery plan.

Brașov City Council approved a study to procure 40 additional electric buses, to be deployed on northern districts and central routes. The purchase will be financed by the European Regional Development Programme 2021‑2027.

In Botoșani County, Nova Apaserv announced technical and economic approval of the regional water‑ and wastewater‑infrastructure development project, co‑financed by the EU’s European Regional Development Fund, targeting upgrades in ten localities and benefiting over 64,000 residents by 2029.
