Romanian police dismantle cannabis trafficking ring involving minors in Prahova County

Prosecutors from DIICOT Ploiești charged seven individuals, aged 17 to 25, with cannabis trafficking in the towns of Ploiești and Boldeşti‑Scăeni. Investigations revealed that between 2025 and 2026 the suspects procured, stored, and sold cannabis in quantities ranging from 50 to 650 lei per gram. The operation employed vehicles for transport and used precision scales and grinders. Police raids on June 30 seized about 190 grams of cannabis, related equipment, and other evidence. All seven suspects were detained; five received 30‑day preventive arrest warrants, while the remaining two were placed under judicial control. The raids were carried out jointly by the Organized Crime Combat Brigade of Ploiești and the Mobile Gendarmerie Group “Matei Basarab.”
