Romanian police issue fines to motorcyclists in Satu Mare and Arad

Police in the Romanian city of Satu Mare stopped a 47‑year‑old rider who was operating a motorcycle on the Transylvania Bridge without a licence, opening a criminal investigation for driving without a permit. The same day, broader traffic checks resulted in more than 100,000 lei in fines, the suspension of ten drivers’ licences and the seizure of twelve vehicle registrations.

In the city of Arad, traffic officers together with the national vehicle registry inspected 34 motorcycles. Four bikes were found to have illegal exhaust modifications, leading to four contravention fines totaling 3,240 lei and the detention of four registration certificates. Both operations were presented as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and reduce accidents caused by non‑compliant motorcyclists.
