Romanian police launch safety checks in Ilfov and domestic‑violence monitoring campaign in Dolj

On 21 June, the Ilfov County Police carried out a large‑scale "razie" operation in the commune of Cernica. Over 200 officers from public order, traffic, criminal investigations and special units inspected 178 vehicles, detained 221 individuals, issued 26 fines totalling 13,997 lei, seized two driver’s licences and eight registration certificates, and performed 58 alcohol and six drug tests, including the detection of a driver without a licence.

In the city of Filiași, Dolj County Police joined municipal officers for an informational‑preventive campaign at the Agro‑Food Market. The event promoted the Electronic Monitoring System for domestic‑violence victims, explaining how automatic alerts are sent to the police dispatch without a 112 call, and outlining provisional and court‑issued protection orders. Police also raised awareness about counterfeit food, drink and medicines, and the legal risks of drug trafficking, spokesperson Mihaela Sadoveanu said.
