Romanian police raid firms in Constanța and Timiș over alleged tax evasion

Police in Romania have carried out home searches of company administrators in the cities of Constanța and Timiș as part of a nationwide crackdown on tax evasion known as Operation Jupiter. In Constanța, investigators say the administrator failed to record sales revenue from 2019‑2025, causing a budget loss of about 105,000 lei. In Timiș, a 32‑year‑old administrator is accused of hiding earnings from 2019‑2024, with an estimated damage of roughly 120,000 lei.

The searches were coordinated by the prosecutor’s office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, with the Economic‑Criminal Investigation Service conducting the raids. Documents, accounting records and other evidence were seized, and the criminal investigations continue under the charge of continuous fiscal evasion. The operations are part of a broader national campaign to identify and punish individuals who deprive the state budget of taxes and fees.
