Romanian Red Cross installs defibrillators in Sebeș and Cugir

The Romanian Red Cross Alba Branch has installed two semi-automatic external defibrillators (AED) in the central areas of Sebeș and Cugir. This initiative marks World First Aid Day and aims to enhance public safety in locations that previously lacked such emergency medical devices in public spaces.

The equipment was acquired through the ‘Roboțelul Binelui’ (Little Robot of Good) campaign. Under this initiative, citizens collected PET bottles, glass, and aluminum cans via collection robots in Alba Iulia, Sebeș, and Cugir. For every item collected, companies Star Assembly and Star Transmission provided a monetary donation to the Red Cross.

The AED devices are designed for use by individuals without specialized medical training, providing audio-visual guidance during cardio-respiratory emergencies. These units are equipped with smart modules that transmit real-time alerts to the Red Cross when activated. This installation follows previous placements in Alba Carolina Fortress and the Alba Iulia City Hall.
