Romanian Resident Doctor Alexandru Neașcu Dies at Floreasca Hospital
Alexandru Neașcu, a final‑year resident in emergency medicine at Bucharest’s Floreasca Hospital, was found dead in the hospital bathroom on the morning of 6 June 2026. Police discovered a syringe near his body, and the official cause of death has not yet been confirmed pending investigation.

One fellow resident said he was “dealing with a herniated disc and was taking strong painkillers.” The doctor’s wife, two children and relatives were left grieving. Arrangements for his burial were announced: the body was placed at the Saints Michael and Gabriel church in Târgu Cărbunești, Gorj, with a funeral service scheduled for 10 June 2026 in Pojogeni.
Medical professionals have urged caution against speculation and emphasized that the investigation will determine whether health‑related factors or other circumstances contributed to the tragedy.
