Cluj's provisional Someș bridge installed, traffic to be diverted
Construction of a temporary metal bridge over the Someș River in Cluj-Napoca has been completed. The structure was moved on rollers from the upstream side and positioned across the river, allowing traffic to be redirected while the existing Garibaldi bridge is demolished and rebuilt. The provisional bridge forms the first phase of a ten‑month investment worth more than 60.6 million lei, with the initial four months dedicated to its erection and the remaining six months to the new permanent Garibaldi bridge. The project is being executed by Geiger Transilvania under a contract exceeding 40.7 million lei and is partially financed through the North‑West Regional Programme 2021‑2027.
