Romanian Security Advisor Marius Lazurca Meets Pentagon on US Military Posture in Europe

Romanian presidential adviser for national security and foreign policy Marius Lazurca visited Washington and met with Pentagon official Elbridge Colby. Colby presented the United States' plan to review its military presence in Europe, a process that will examine troop deployments, force posture and bases, and is linked to the NATO 3.0 concept that aims to shift more conventional defence responsibilities to European allies.

Lazurca emphasized Romania’s proactive stance and its commitment to stand alongside the United States, seeking deeper defence cooperation in the Black Sea region. The visit also included discussions with General Gheorghiță Vlad, chief of the Romanian Defence Staff, and other officials, reinforcing bilateral security ties after recent incidents involving Russian drones over Romanian airspace.
