Romanian Startup Noma-auto.com Launches Verified‑History Used‑Car Marketplace
Two Romanian teenagers, 18‑year‑old Eric Balaban and 19‑year‑old Darian Guță, have launched Noma-auto.com, a platform that requires a verified vehicle‑history report before a used‑car ad can be posted. The service checks VIN numbers against reports from providers such as CarVertical, Cebie and Vincari, displaying mileage, accident history and prior usage directly on the listing. Buyers can view these reports for free, while sellers pay a modest fee of 25 lei plus VAT to publish an ad.
The founders say the site aims to curb odometer fraud and hidden damage in Romania’s second‑hand car market. They have invested around €1,500‑€15,000 of personal funds and plan to add a database of mechanics and service‑center reviews to further support transparent vehicle inspections.
