Romanian towns begin new public works projects in Bucharest and Pătârlagele

In Bucharest’s Sector 6, construction started on the planned Grozăvești Park, a three‑hectare green space featuring sports fields, playgrounds, a 14‑metre observation tower, a dog area, pavilions and an event square. The project, initiated by USR councillors in 2022 and supported by the local council, was announced by Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu, while sector mayor Ciprian Ciucu expressed a differing view in comments.

In the town of Pătârlagele, mayor Ion Gherghiceanu reported progress on a modern nursery built under the EU‑funded National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The 11.9‑million‑lei investment, signed in September 2022, began construction after securing state co‑financing and permits, with more than 40 % of works completed and the facility designed for high energy efficiency.
