Romanian Youth Initiatives Bring Arts and Robotics Programs to Timișoara and Panciu

The CODRU for YOUth project, funded by the Timișoara municipality, has entered its implementation phase, gathering dozens of young participants for co‑creation of a large public‑space art installation called “Take a Seat.” Students from the University of West’s Faculty of Arts and Design, as well as high‑school art students, worked with mentors to explore traditional and contemporary techniques. The project includes a cultural‑volunteering laboratory training nearly 100 volunteers, with a public exhibition planned for 16 July 2026 in Timișoara’s Parc cu Platani.

In Panciu, the Ioan Slavici Theoretical High School launched the C.Y.B.E.R. (Creative Youth for Engineering & Robotics) programme, financed by the Vrancea County Council and run by the CyberLIS Association. The initiative aims to introduce 11‑ to 18‑year‑olds to STEAM subjects through the school’s CyberLIS robotics club, which competes in the FIRST Tech Challenge. Activities include hands‑on workshops, Arduino and sensor programming, 3D‑printing labs, and study visits to technical universities, all intended to build digital and teamwork skills.
