Romanian youths arrested for large‑risk drug trafficking tied to coastal festival

Three young men were placed in preventive detention for 30 days after Romanian prosecutors dismantled a large‑risk drug trafficking operation. According to DIICOT Craiova, two suspects, aged 19 and 25, acquired, stored and transported about 30 grams of the synthetic drug 3‑CMC on the Sibiu–Hunedoara route and sold it to a 21‑year‑old buyer for 3,500 lei. The buyer, unable to pay the full amount, left a car as collateral. He later boarded a train to Constanța, intending to sell the drugs at a festival on the Black Sea coast, but was caught on July 7. A search of the pledged vehicle uncovered additional 3‑CMC crystals. The Dolj County Tribunal ordered preventive arrest for the three suspects – Sergiu‑Costinel Negoiță, Alexandru‑Valentin Roman and Raul‑Ilie Vlad – rejecting their request for house arrest or judicial control. The investigation involved DIICOT’s Craiova office, the Craiova Organized Crime Combat Brigade, and support from BCCO units in Constanța, Alba Iulia and the Craiova Transport Police.
