Romania's A7 Autostrada Moldovei reaches over 95% completion on Adjud–Răcăciuni segment

Romanian highway authority (CNAIR) director Cristian Pistol announced that work on the A7 Autostrada Moldovei is advancing rapidly. The 47‑kilometre stretch between Adjud and Răcăciuni (lot 2) is reported to be over 95 % complete, while the adjacent lot 3 (Răcăciuni‑Bacău) is about 80 % finished.

Construction is being carried out by Romanian contractor UMB Spedition, which has mobilised roughly 1,900 workers and 400 pieces of equipment across the site. A key focus is the railway overpass at Cleja in Bacău County, a 1,215‑metre structure where girders are being installed and concrete work is underway. Simultaneously, crews are completing drainage ditches, parking areas and protective fencing on the Adjud‑Răcăciuni segment.

The two lots together span 60.3 km and represent an investment of about 4.18 billion lei, fully funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). Pistol said the goal for the year is to open 397 km of motorway from Bucharest to Păscani, comprising 62 km of the A3, 319 km of the A7 and a 16‑km bypass around Bacău.
