Romania's agricultural producer prices rise 0.26% in April 2026

Romania's agricultural producer price index increased by 0.26% in April 2026 compared with April 2025, according to the National Institute of Statistics. The rise was driven by a 12.45% jump in animal‑product prices, while crop‑product prices fell 4.12%. Crop prices saw the steepest drops for autumn cabbage (‑30.10%), potatoes (‑27.94%), wheat (‑9.25%), carrots (‑9.13%), early‑summer cabbage (‑9.07%), maize (‑6.65%) and dry onions (‑5.89%). Prices of dessert apples (+25.37%), rapeseed (+14.79%), sunflower (+11.43%), barley (+6.63%), beans (+5.51%) and soybeans (+1.95%) increased.

Livestock price gains were led by live sheep (+34.67%), eggs (+24.07%), live cattle (+21.01%), honey (+10.83%), live poultry (+10.18%) and cow’s milk (+1.62%). Live pig prices fell 7.04%. Romania’s overall annual inflation rate stood at 10.7% in April 2026, with food prices up 7.4% year‑on‑year.
