Romania's CNAS to launch digital health portal “e‑SănătateaMea”
The Romanian Senate approved a law requiring the National Health Insurance House (CNAS) to develop, administer and make available the “e‑SănătateaMea” portal as part of the Health Insurance IT Platform (PIAS). The portal will provide insured persons secure online access to personal medical information, electronic interaction with health‑care providers, medication data and digital tools for health monitoring. The system is slated to become operational in the second half of 2026, with a pilot phase preceding full rollout. From the fourth quarter of 2026, all health‑care providers must use the portal for patient scheduling and related services.
The legislation complements existing health‑reform law No. 95/2006 and received 91 votes in favour and two against in the Senate. The measure aims to modernise Romania’s health‑care delivery and improve patient access to digital services.
