Romanian food safety agency recalls WELLGOOD seed products from Penny stores
The National Authority for Veterinary and Food Safety (ANSVSA) ordered the withdrawal of two WELLGOOD seed products sold in Penny supermarkets after laboratory analysis showed cyanogenic acid levels above the legal limit. The affected items are 200‑gram packages of WELLGOOD flax seeds (expiration 20 Nov 2026 – 9 Feb 2027) and WELLGOOD mixed salad seeds (expiration 29 Aug 2026 – 3 Nov 2026). Consumers are advised not to eat the products and may return them to any Penny outlet for a full refund without a receipt. The recall is limited to the specified batches; all other WELLGOOD products remain on sale. The supplier ENCINGER SK withdrew the lots in compliance with EU limits on cyanide compounds in food.
