Romania's Ministry of National Defence opens 2,172 military positions
The Romanian Ministry of National Defence (MApN) has opened applications for its second series of professional soldiers and non-commissioned officers for 2026. A total of 2,172 positions are available across the country.
Eligible candidates must be between 18 and 45 years old and have completed at least ten years of schooling. A high school diploma is not mandatory, though specific roles in the auto and engineer branches require B and C driving licenses. The selection process involves psychological evaluations, physical tests—including a 2,000-meter run and a utility course—interviews, and medical examinations.
Selected candidates will undergo a 12-week training program scheduled to begin on December 7, 2026. During training, participants receive free accommodation, food, equipment, and medical assistance, with a net monthly salary of approximately 4,300 lei starting in the second half of the instruction period. Interested individuals can apply directly to the military units where they wish to serve.
