Romania's New NIBIRU Resort Opens in Costinești, Boosting Tourism

The NIBIRU entertainment resort opened on 16 July in Costinești on Romania's Black Sea coast. The inauguration featured concerts by Delia, Puya and Mario Fresh, circus and dance shows, aerial displays and a fireworks finale at 18:00. Notable guests included internet personality Selly, TV host Dan Negru and Romania’s first cosmonaut Dumitru Prunariu, who said, “For the first time in more than 50 years a new seaside resort opens in Romania.”

Organisers describe NIBIRU as the region’s largest integrated leisure destination, combining entertainment, culture, sport, retail and gastronomy, and aim to generate seasonal jobs and stimulate the local economy. In parallel, eMAG announced a partnership granting its Genius subscription members free access to the promenade throughout the summer and interactive experiences guided by its AI assistant iZi, which engaged thousands of festival‑goers during the opening event that attracted over 600 000 participants.
