Romania's Tasnad and Hungary's Hajdúszoboszló unveil large water‑park developments

Tasnad, a town in north‑west Romania, is reviving the Aquapark Transilvania Terme project after a tender was cancelled for lack of bids. The planned complex will cover more than two hectares and include seven indoor pools, one outdoor pool and five jacuzzis on the upper floor of a multi‑storey building. The estimated budget is 138.2 million lei (about US$26 million), with a three‑year construction timeline, and the tender period has been reopened to attract new offers.

In Hungary, the Hungarospa Premium Zone at the Hajdúszoboszló spa resort opened its exclusive area for the 2024 season. The premium section offers a limited number of guests access to themed pools such as the Plitvice waterfall pool, the Tahiti wave pool with a cocktail bar, and the Amazon multi‑level jacuzzi, plus a children's pool. Admission costs 7,000 HUF on weekdays and 7,500 HUF on weekends, with a reduced rate for children under three. The zone will operate through the end of summer, providing a boutique‑style spa experience within the well‑known thermal‑water destination.
