Romanian Transport Minister Radu Miruță summons CFR Călători chief over passenger complaints

More than 1,000 rail passengers completed an online questionnaire reporting serious problems on CFR Călători services. Sixty‑five percent said the air‑conditioning did not work, 29 % complained about cleanliness, and 86 % would not recommend the trains to others. The majority of complaints (about 70 %) concerned InterRegio trains, where climate control is mandatory.

Interim Transport Minister Radu Miruță cited the data, saying “the data does not look good,” and convened a meeting with the director of CFR Călători. He demanded a detailed response for each of the 1,200 entries within two days and stressed the need to identify the responsible parties. The minister announced that the questionnaire will remain open and that the ministry will continue to monitor and address the issues raised by passengers.
