Rome: Century-old pine collapses onto residential building

A large, centuries-old pine tree, approximately 30 meters tall, collapsed onto a four-story residential building in Rome's Salaria area, specifically on via di Trasone near Piazza Vescovio. The tree was located within a private courtyard and fell onto the building's entrance.

While no injuries were reported, the incident caused significant damage to the structure and blocked the main entrance, leaving several residents trapped inside their apartments. Utility services, including electricity and water, were interrupted. Firefighters and local police worked to secure the area and remove debris. The cause of the collapse remains unknown, with investigations pending to determine if the incident was due to the tree's condition, soil issues, or weather.
