Rome Half Marathon official route announced for 2026 edition

The official route for the third edition of the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon by Brooks has been announced. Scheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2026, the event is organized by RomaOstia and RCS Sports & Events.

For the first time, the race will start at the arches of Viale di Porta Ardeatina at 8:00 AM, utilizing the Roman walls as a backdrop. The 21.97-kilometer course will pass through the historic center of Rome, including landmarks such as Circonvallazione Ostiense, the Pyramid, Circo Massimo, and Tiberina Island, before concluding at the Colosseum on Via degli Annibaldi.

The event has grown significantly, attracting 40,000 participants, 80 percent of whom are traveling from abroad. Alessandro Onorato, head of the Department of Major Events, Sport, Tourism, and Fashion, noted that the race allows runners to compete in an ‘open-air museum.’ Additionally, the event's Charity Program has raised over 70,000 euros for various beneficial projects.
