Alessandro Onorato, head of the Department of Major Events, Sport, Tourism, and Fashion, described the course as allowing runners to compete in an ‘open-air museum.’

As of October 2026, the event has reached a record 40,000 participants, representing a 68% increase compared to the previous year. Registrations reportedly closed as early as July. The participant demographic shows women making up 50% of the total field and 58% of runners aged 18 to 34. The event maintains a strong international presence, with 78% of participants traveling from abroad, including notable increases from Germany, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Stefano Mei, president of the Italian Athletics Federation, noted that the event has become a ‘benchmark for both Italian and international running.’

Additionally, the event’s Charity Program has raised more than 70,000 euros for various projects.
