Rome launches Julia 3.0 AI to streamline municipal bureaucracy

The City of Rome has introduced Julia 3.0, an advanced artificial intelligence tool designed to reduce bureaucratic delays. Presented by Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, the updated AI transitions from a simple information assistant to an operational tool capable of performing 30 different administrative services.

Key functionalities include 16 services for registry office needs, such as issuing birth, residence, and citizenship certificates. The system also offers seven services related to education, including school menu consultations and nursery school rankings, and seven services for citizen assistance, such as reporting issues to municipal services or checking vehicle towing status.

Julia 3.0 operates with two primary modes: an operational mode for rapid certificate retrieval and a guided mode that assists users through complex procedures like changing residency or enrolling in school transport. Users can access these services using digital identity credentials such as SPID, CIE, or CNS.
