Rome launches major urban infrastructure and redevelopment projects

Roma Capitale has launched two significant urban development projects aimed at improving infrastructure and public spaces within the city.

In the Colle Fiorito district (Municipio XIV), construction has begun to complete urbanization works under the B48 Bis Zone Plan. The project, valued at approximately 4.5 million euros, focuses on essential infrastructure including primary and secondary roads, public parking, sidewalks, traffic dividers, signage, and rainwater drainage systems. The works also include improvements to public lighting and green spaces, alongside ongoing hydraulic safety measures.

Simultaneously, the Department of Urban Planning has handed over the construction site for the redevelopment of the Casali di Parco Volusia. Supported by a 3.5 million euro investment, this project aims to transform three long-abandoned structures into a civic space. The planned facilities include Wi-Fi services, co-working and study stations, a civic library, a conference hall, and a refreshment point. This initiative follows a participatory process involving local associations and citizens to define the functional use of the site.
