Overview

Rome has initiated several urban regeneration and infrastructure projects aimed at improving public housing and civic spaces.

In the Ostiense district, officials delivered 54 new social housing units at the Porto Fluviale RecHouse complex. This 16 million euro project, funded largely by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), converted a former military warehouse into energy-efficient residences. Further redevelopment efforts include a 4.5 million euro urbanization project in the Colle Fiorito district to improve roads, parking, and drainage. Additionally, a 3.5 million euro investment is being directed toward the Casali di Parco Volusia to transform abandoned structures into a civic space featuring a library, co-working stations, and a conference hall.
